Canine Partners of the Rockies, Inc. (CaPR) is the recipient of the 2007 Denver Commission for People with Disabilities' Service Animal Award and is recognized for creating a patch program with the Girl Scouts to educate about disabilities and the role of service dogs. Among other things, CaPR service dogs assist their partners by picking up dropped articles, turning light switches on and off, and opening and closing doors and drawers. Dogs also learn a range of additional skills unique to their partner's needs.
